What furniture do I need for my first home?

When moving into a new home, you’ll need to have:

Should living room furniture match?

Whether or not your living room furniture matches is entirely down to your personal taste. 

Matching sets can create a beautifully cohesive look that is both smart and sleek. However, non-matching sets can create a dynamic look and allow you to play with colours and textures. 

On the other hand, if you like to be creative and want to have greater influence over your interior decor, mixing and matching may be for you. 

Should furniture touch the wall?

When furnishing a room, always allow at least a small gap between each piece of furniture and the wall. This will make even the smallest rooms appear larger and wider. 

The only exception to this is the bed, the headboard of which can be placed right against the wall for support in accordance with Feng Shui.
