Duck Down Duvet FAQs

How do I wash my duck down duvet?

Your duck down duvet should be washed every two years, but can be washed sooner if spoiled. Our tips for a fantastically fresh duck down duvet are:

- Wash your duck down duvet separately from other laundry to give it ample washing machine space.

- Launder at 40 degrees.

- Avoid fabric softener, as this can cause it to lump together.

- Use a mild detergent, as harsh chemicals may break down the keratin in the duck down.

- Tumble dry at a low temperature to prevent the wet down from clumping together.

What are the advantages of a duck down duvet?

Made from the fluffy underbelly feathers of ducks, duck down is sumptuously soft. But that’s far from the only benefit of these luxurious duvets.

Our duck down duvets are excellent for regulating your temperature. They are insulating for winter whilst still being light and airy. Plus, they absorb body heat and humidity wonderfully in summer.

What is the difference between duck down and goose down?

Another marvellous duvet option is our goose down duvets. These have larger clusters of down than duck down duvets and are more insulating, making them a wonderful option for those who naturally run cold.
