King Bed FAQs

What size is a king bed?

Our king beds can differ slightly in size but will be 5 ft x 6 ft at a minimum. This is 60” x 78” in inches and 150 x 200 cm. Our bed frame size guide can explain this further.

How do I style my king bed?

Thanks to its spacious size, a king bed provides ample styling opportunities.

You may opt for plain white bedding to create a hotel feel. The vast expanse of crisp whiteness is sure to have a calming effect. Or instead, use the generous space to explore beautiful patterning

Break up the bed with a throw to create a line of texture. Fold it in half widthwise and then lay over the width of the bed just a few inches from the bottom.

Another benefit of a king bed is the wealth of space for scatter cushions. Add up to six by layering them in a row in front of your pillows or creating a diamond formation in front of the pillows on each side.

Can a king bed fit in my room?

Before purchasing your magnificent king bed, you must ensure your bedroom is large enough to accommodate it.

Measure the length and width of your bedroom fully, factoring in measuring your other furniture pieces such as your dressing table, wardrobe and bedside tables. Considering all of this, you’ll want to make sure you have at least 30 inches of breathing room around your bed so that you won’t feel claustrophobic, as well as ample room for movement around your furniture.

You’ll also want to make sure that your king bed isn’t going to obstruct anything important, like a window or door. For a visual aid, outline the size of your king bed in tape on your bedroom floor.

Lastly, measure your door and corridor to ensure you have enough space to get your king bed into your room successfully.
