A mattress protector is a removable bedding item designed to shield a mattress from damage, spillages or wear and tear. It acts as a protective barrier that covers the mattress and prevents it from being directly exposed to things like spills, stains, dust mites, allergens, bed bugs, and other potential contaminants.

How to clean a mattress topper?
Step 1: Check the Care Label: Before you start, check the care label on the mattress topper for specific cleaning instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Step 2: Vacuum the Surface: Begin by removing any loose debris, dust, or pet hair from the surface of the mattress topper. Pay extra attention to seams, corners, and any crevices where dust and debris may accumulate.
Step 3: Spot Clean Stains: For specific stains, apply a small amount of stain remover or a mixture of mild detergent and water to the affected area. Gently blot the stain with a clean cloth or sponge, being careful not to scrub too hard to avoid damaging the fabric.
Step 4: Wash the Mattress Topper: If the care label indicates that the mattress topper is machine washable, use a mild detergent and wash it on a gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals.
This method can also be applied to pillow protectors to keep them fresh and clean for longer.
What is the best way to dry a mattress topper?
If the care label allows, you can either air dry the mattress topper by laying it flat on a clean surface or by hanging it up. Air Drying helps to maintain the quality of your mattress topper for longer due to not using any heat on it.
Alternatively, you can tumble dry it - but ensure you set your machine to a low heat setting. Add some clean, dry towels to the dryer to help absorb moisture and speed up the drying process.
