Maximising Bedroom Storage With Ottoman Beds

Looking for a way to tidy your space without adding bulky furniture? A DUSK ottoman bed is the perfect answer. Designed with clever lift-up storage, these frames reveal generous underbed space that’s ideal for spare bedding, out-of-season clothes, towels and more.

Unlike drawer storage beds, ottoman beds lift from the base, giving you full use of the space beneath the mattress. Choose from a range of colours and fabrics, from a chic linen-look style to a plush buttoned velvet design.

Pair your new bed with cosy throws and cushions, or add a matching ottoman storage bench to maximise your bedroom’s potential. It’s all about calm, considered design that helps you stay organised.

FAQs

What is an ottoman bed and how does it work?

An ottoman bed looks like a regular bed from the outside, but includes clever hidden storage underneath the mattress. Simply lift the base from the end or side (depending on your design) to reveal a spacious compartment, ideal for storing bedding, clothes and more. Perfect for bedrooms where floor space is precious, these storage beds make tidying effortless without compromising on comfort or design.

To use your ottoman bed, firstly, make sure the mattress is on the bed. Use the strap to lift or lower your metal frame. Close the ottoman by pushing firmly with both hands towards the centre of the bed frame with equal pressure.

Do ottoman beds break easily over time?

DUSK ottoman beds are made with strong frames and smooth lift mechanisms that are built to last. Over time, nuts and bolts can become loose with general wear and tear, so we recommend doing a quick check every 6-12 months. Keep hold of the Allen Key and Spanner in case these are untightening, and they will just need a tighten up on the Gas Struts/Lift Mechanisms.

How much storage space do ottoman beds usually offer?

The storage area is typically the full size of the bed base, providing far more space than traditional drawers or underbed boxes.

Are ottoman beds less comfortable than standard bed frames?

Ottoman beds offer the same level of mattress support as standard frames. Comfort comes down to your choice of mattress, not the storage mechanism.

Are ottoman beds dangerous or unsafe to lift?

All DUSK ottoman beds use a smooth, assisted-lift mechanism designed for easy and safe operation. Once raised, the base stays securely open so you can access storage hands-free.

Within your furniture manual, you'll find advice for operating your ottoman bed frame safely. Some main points include:

- Raise and lower the ottoman metal frame 4/5 times to ensure the gas pistons are fully lubricated.

- Re-tighten all nuts and bolts after the first two weeks of use.

- To move your bed, we recommend lifting it to prevent damage to the legs or your flooring.
